Cable cars and ferries run from the World Trade Centre to this former military base
half a kilometre (one third of a mile) offshore. It is Singapore's most popular
attraction. The island has a wide variety of museums, sights and activities including
South-East Asia's largest oceanarium, a Butterfly Park and an Insectarium.

Night Safari (3.5 Hours) |
|
|
|
It is the first wildlife park in the world built especially to be viewed at night.
It is not a true safari however, although there are some free-ranging animals, but
essentially a large zoo. Still, the feel of walking through a thick jungle at night
and seeing nocturnal animals is a unique experience which cannot be replicated with
nocturnal houses. Slightly less than a million people visit it every year.

Singapore City (3.5 Hours) |
|
|
|
Singapore, an island-state in Southeast Asia, was founded as a British trading colony
in 1819 which joined Malaysia in 1963, but withdrew two years later and became independent.
Now it is one of the world's most prosperous countries, with strong international
trading links (its port is one of the world's busiest) and with per capita GDP equal
to that of the leading nations of Western Europe. |

Kuala Lumpur is one of Asia's most cosmopolitan and modern cities. Over the last

buildings like the Petronas Towers (the tallest in the world) and extensive shopping.
Unlike many Asian cities, KL still has many beautiful old buildings from a bygone
era, green areas and friendly charm.
